Reviews for `WHITE SANDS HOTEL`

Geraldine scored 3 / 5 on 19/07/2017

Geraldine stayed 15/7/17 Great to have a hotel like White Sands in the lovely seaside village of Ballyheigue. It might be old world but everyplace was clean, rooms had everything you could possibly want and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good with a great variety of food, hot and cold. The bar was lively on the Saturday night which we enjoyed and we ate lunch there before returning home on Sunday. The food was very good.

Rooms are quite small but for one night not a problem and a great view of the sea. Was a little disappointed no wifi in rooms although there is in other areas of Hotel. We had a late lunch in bar and this was very nice. There is music in the evening although the bar does get very packed but it was good to have entertainment in hotel. Staff at breakfast particularly nice and loved having a freshly cooked breakfast instead of buffet.

Stayed at this Family run hotel in the lovely beach side village of BALLYHEIGUE West Kerry, and found the service and staff excellent, while the rooms are small and the decor a bit dated they were nontheless clean and beds comforable, the bathroom was likewise a bit dated but very clean and well supplied with towels and toiletries,we had a three day stay here thanks to LIDL,s great holiday break offers, and it is a good location for exploring the West Kerry area, and close enough to Killarney for the RING of KERRY TOUR,I would have not problem booking this hotel again for a similar stay next year, the hotel also provides entertainment nightly during the summer months, and as with entertainment everywhere it,s a matter of luck whose performing on the dates people choose to stay,Food and drink are at a reasonable price, but the real star of this location is the Beach and long strand leading down to the famous BANNA STRAND,for beach side holidays and activities, then this village is a good fit...

I think a 3 star. I stayed two nights with my two kids and hubby. The staff were very helpful and friendly - which means a lot. The breakfast was lovely. Kids were not impressed as the hotel is "old" and needs a little TLC. However as somewhere to lay your head and get a good breakfast and near the beach - it was very good.

Stayed in the white sands hotel last week. The hotel was lovely. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean and well presented. The staff were very friendly and heplful. The breakfast was nice but agree with other reviews regarding the poor quality sausages! Bar food in evening was fabulous. Perfect location for beach in sunny weather.

Stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend on the Sunday night of the bank holiday weekend. It was a last minute booking. Found the hotel to be clean. Rooms were basic, but well presented and clean. Everything you require was in same i.e. tea/coffee facility, T.V., iron. The price we paid was cheap, especially considering the weekend that was in it. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning. I would definately stay here again for a last minute get away in a cheap and clean hotel.

Booked a double room but got two single beds pushed together!! Breakfast was awful, dried scrambled egg with unedible sausages. Would never go back there.

hi just a note to say i would not give the hotel any star .when we arrived there was no booking for us at all . i had to send a e mail to the hotel group to see if it could be sorted it was by chance they had a room, but the room was a small double room in which i guess was not used in a while ,the bedding was ok but the room was dirty ,and the bathroom was nt much better. The sink was dripping all night ,we boiled the kettle for a coffee but guess what the milk was sour. Our breakfast the first morning was horried , there was no spoons to take cereals the jug they used for orange juice was chipped , there were no table cloths on most of the tables an any that had were torn , there were no servettes and the cups were stained from years of use.The food was ok but we were not in form of eating and the staff that served us was nt a bit pleasent. i wanted to leave the same day and go somewhere else only was so looking forward to been near the beach. We left after our food and did not return till late that night our breakfast the next morning was much better they had spoons for dishing out the cereals and we were handed a menu which did not happen the morning before and the woman serving was more pleasent. My husband was a lorry driver and he is used to eating out in different places he isnt fussy but he could not get over the hotel and its staff. We not been on holidays in years and we had a few bad months with no work we saved to go away and you can only imagine how we felt when we arrived and there no booking for us i was not impressed what if all the rooms were gone . I honesty would not send any one to the hotel .Martina and Alan

We booked a double room but got twins beds pushed together. The socket for the kettle was not working, the other socket was in the wardrobe. Water was cold in the shower. Breakfast was cold on first morning. Staff at reception were not friendly. We would not recommend this hotel.

Dear Lidl Team, This is the worst break I have ever been on. Evening dinner was disgusting from starter to coffee, Pate - cold vol au vent with disgusting filling, main course - chicken a la jus [deep fried chicken served with mint sauce] and a lump of mashed potato, latte - coffee served in a small white cup with milk , cup obviously was not washed as there was sugar at the bottom.Breakfast as described in another one of your reviews. So disappointing and what a waste of money. Marj.

Dear Lidl Breaks Team, This break was the first break I have booked with you. We were so much looking forward to it but it was a such a disapointment. Our meal was a disgrace, the worst I have ever eaten. Starter - Pate (cold vol au vent with a disgusting filling, no salad or presentation), Main course Chicken i a jus sauce (deep fried chicken i n crumb served with 'mint sauce',served with a lump of mashed potato. Coffee - I ordered a latte (small cup of coffee with milk, cup must have not have been washed properly as there was sugar at the bottom). The waitress was a shy elderly woman, complaints to no avail. Breakfast as previous review, leftovers from coach tours. We left hungry and disgusted never to return. Yours sincerely, Marjorie O'Sullivan
