A very friendly, homely hotel. Comfortable rooms, lovely food & a great location to explore Connemara.

We really enjoyed our stay in Peacocks hotel, very comfortable beds, spotless room and nice outside seating. We were very disappointed with the meal we had,, we both had fish and chips and the fish was just two little squares that tasted like frozen fish fingers and was not worth the price. We were surprised that a family was not allowed order food outside because they were non residents and yet all the construction workers were served breakfast even before the guests.

Excellent location, excellent value, comfortable rooms, great food and fantastic staff. What more could one ask? This hotel is located on the main road at one corner of the Connemara National Park. A visit to the 360 degree viewing tower is an absolute must. We will be back.

Toilets and back entrance hall extremely smelly. Such a dirty water in the bathroon that i didn't dare to brush my teeth or take shower (i had to get a 5lt water bottle from the closest shop). Also the bottle of water on the bed side table was brown in spite of what written on label - triple filtered. Not even the decency to offer clear bottled mineral water from their local supplier. The hotel manager can keep blaming the persistent rain, the brown water of the lake, and keep saying that the water is safe, treated and filtered 10 times...ANYWAY that IS NOT the standard a 3 star hotel should have in a western country. A positive note, the lady at the reception was kind and really helpful. Unfortunately i would't repeat that experience. Since Lidl is a synonymous of quality and efficiency, a place like that should not be advertised on Lidl Breaks.

Hi This hotel is in Receivorship and badly in need of renovation. Otherwise the staff or lovely, food good. Pity to see the hotel go into disrepair!

The peacock hotel is in a beautiful location, ideal if you want to visit Kylemore Abbey ( A must). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, a pleasure to meet them. The room was clean and acceptable for a 3*. The food was lovely, we ate there the two nights of our stay and had no complaints. I would reccommend the hotel with no reserve. Rosarii Mockler
