We stayed 2 nights and had a lovely stay. There was a good atmosphere in the bar, the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent, we would definitely stay again.
Had a lovely relaxing stay. Room was spotless and comfortable. Staff were very very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. What I liked about The Torc was it was noise free and even though we stayed mid week the hotel was busy. It was only 5 mins drive from Killarney and I would certainly stay there again.
the food and the services and staff was all 5 stars i would stay there again
Th hotel is extremely quite which is great. The staff cannot do enough to help you no matter what it is. It is always a lovely relaxing break when we go to the Torc.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. All the staff were friendly and had no problem with helping you with any questions you had. We dined in the restaraunt and it was beatufil. it was a lovely experience to be so treated so well.
Hotel was grand; out of the town suits us well. Food was excellent as was the service. I would recommend this Hotel for those requiring a quiet place to relax and sleep. I really liked the bed; it was so very comfortable. The shower was so so and the extract fan didn't seem to be working.
staff lovely, food lovely. place clean. Saturday night function was on music still going at 1.30, may not suit family with small children. Needs a little airing, rooms and hallway bit stuffy and musty. would definitely go back nice and quite. great banter in front bar with the locals.
Nice little hotel just outside kilarney town close to all at attractions. Friendly welcome.my husband and I had a superior room,it was a nice size as was the bathroom.with the room,we had wine water chocs, and fruit.meal ,lovely, and nd thebreakfast the best I have had in a hotel.only down side was the bed,it was too hard for me,but hotel beds usually are hard for some reason.G dundalk
Very nice hotel. The room was clean and modern. The only thing we would have liked was to have swimming pool.
rooms were fabulous, food was devine i absolutely had a great time at the torc would reccommend to all :)
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Staff are so friendly and go out of there way to help. Food is amazing also there and the room should be rated as a four star. Couldnt say anything bad about my stay.
We booked this Hotel for our valentines weekend away. The location was ideal as it was just a few minutes by taxi into the town. The rooms were spotless. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant valentines night and the food was delicious. The only fault with this hotel was that the wifi did not reach our room but that did not bother us too much. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff especially the receptionists. Food was fabulous and the atmosphere was lively. Will definitely be back again.
Wasted an incredible amount of time finding it due the name change. Reception area cold, stove in place no fire lighting. Lift out of order, had to climb several flights of stairs (my husbands health concerns) no ground floor bedroom. Bedroom very cold radiator not working. Food good but dining area cold. (had to keep coats on while eating). Could not be more disappointed We love Killarney its a great place cannot wait to go back but not to the Torc Hotel
Excellent value for August - room spotless newly decorated - breakfast and dinner also excellent. Staff friendly and helpful - only reason for 3 stars is refurbishment is not completed - i.e. having to go through the quite dreary bar when entering and exiting but will consider going there again when it is completed
great time fabulous food and the room was perfect will be paying another trip down for sure. peter/bernie
This hotel, which is now called the Torc Hotel, is situated about a 5 minute drive outside Killarney on the Mallow Road. As this is quite a main road, with not footpath or hard shoulder, I would consider a car very useful, if not necessary, if staying here. The hotel is being renovated and our room, in particular the bathroom, was modern and very clean. The exterior and the bar area are quite tired, it seems as though the renovations have not been completed in these areas. Breakfast was very good. For the price we paid, in Killarney in July of €38 per person B&B, this hotel was a bargain but for a luxury treat, I'd go elsewhere.
initial confusion as to the location as its changed names, an email notification would have been nice, Staff and hotel where excellent, bar food delicious, would happily recommend.
great place to spend a weekend in, only problem was this time around there was no entertainment, plus they are refurbishing the rooms but over all the staff could not be nicer to you. would recommend a stay there..
stayed in darby ogills for two nights b&b, the first room we had was cold and the bathroom light didnt work, so we changed rooms, the second room we had the toilet didnt flush properly and the bath drain didnt let the shower water go down, the room only has 3 channels rte 2, tv3 and tng, apparently they didnt get saorview so there is no rte 1, the food was lovely we had dinner and breakfast there and it was fab, there was functions on both nights there so there was very little room in the bar to sit, the first night we ended up taking our drinks to the bedroom, bottom line i wouldnt recommend it to my friends.
Ideally situated just a couple of mins from the town. Staff were very friendly.room was spacious and clean. The price was great, two kids stayed for free, delicious food too. Busy spot with dancing and music. Will definitely be staying there again when I'm staying in killarney again!
Just back from a five night stay in Darby o gills, with my husband and two children. Our room was very dated and very dusty. My children found two lighters and a cigar pack in the wardrobe. I checked under the beds and furniture for any other surprises and the dust was two inches thick. The beds are as dated as the furniture and extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was not cleaned just barley looked at and extremely moldy. The toiletries was a bar of small soap. The staff do not speak to you and are not friendly at all, I tried to ask two different staff about local events are were not very helpful at all. There is no Wi Fi throughout it is only available in reception area and the bar. We had our evening meal there and the bars downstairs are lovely and the food was an excellent standard. At night time, the rooms were too warm the heating was on all the time in the hallways, I opened the window to find the noise of the boiler/fan outside was too loud. We honestly did not get one decent nights sleep. The staff smoked outside just under our room, the might as well been smoking in our room. When they have a function you cant get any parking at all and the music was too loud. The entertainment is two hours of music on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. The breakfast was really nice. I have stayed in loads of hotels before and I am not at all fussy but I could not get a nights sleep in the hotel, I left the hotel totally exhausted after our break. I absolutely loved Killarney its a great place to visit cannot wait to go back but would not be going back to Darby O Gills.
The hotel was fine, Very much a Two star hotel.
My husband and i stayed at darby o gills hotel for 1 night. We enjoyed our stay the room was lovely the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast the next morning. We also went to the dance that was on it was very enjoyable. The only criticism we have is that the room was too hot. The radiator was on all night we couldnt turn it off. My husband asked the Receptionist to turn it off she said she did but it was on all night. Its such a waste of heating it must cost a fortune.
Stayed in Darby O'Gills for a week end in August. Have stayed there many times and will definitely be back there again. I do not know how to recommend this hotel enough. Everything was perfect from the time we were greeted at reception to our leaving. The staff were wonderful. The food was great. The room was of a very high standard - clean, comfortable and cosy.
Had a wonderful time in Killarney staying at Darby OGills. The food was wonderful and the Staff were so friendly and helpful .Hope to stay there in the future.
Our stay at the Darby O Gill Hotel was excellant , the room was excellant the Staff were very helpfull and courtous the Food was beautiful all in all we had an great stay and it was great value Thank You. Charles & Joan Martin
I can not really rate this hotel. the reason being that when we that there on the day we booked for we were told there was no room vacant for us, they were fully booked out. they said they had not received the booking in time from lidl. i explained that i had spoken to a person at the hotel friday night and all was well but there was still no room at the inn. they booked us into the victoria house hotel a couple of miles away, and we were very pleased with our stay there, have no complaints about service what so ever but the price of eating in is quite high. this hotel is also on lidl list and we will use lidl again but hoping not darby ogills.
Went for a weekend in august, really enjoyed the stay. Staff were very friendly and so were the locals. Room was lovely and bright. Food was just average but reasonably good valve for money.
spent a w/end late may in darby o gills what a w/end staff couldnt have been nicer, food excellent , our room was perfect bright and airy.entertainment every night and the locals make you very welcome. will definilty be back. ps sorry i overflowed the bath, you were very understanding thank you. jo / mary
Very disappointed - decided not to stay - first impressions weren't very good - forfeited my deposit in favour of other accommodation.
