Very nice hotel only issue is I had an all inclusive dinner deal but had a limited dinner menu and most meals on it had an extra surcharge so wasn't really inclusive wit nearly 10e added to most meals on it. Staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and presentable.

I took my 3 daughters for a night to the Oranmore Lodge for a treat. We had a lovely time. We used the leisure centre on the Friday evening and again Saturday morning and really enjoyed it. Our room was lovely and spacious enough for the 4 of us. Breakfast was really good, lovely continental buffet and then hot food served to the table. The kids had pancakes which they loved and I had delicious eggs Benedict. It was my second visit to the hotel and I would definitely return again.

Lovely hotel and staff are very nice , room was clean and a good size for 2 adults and 2 children. Only thing I'd say is leasure center could do with some upgrades , crome holders in shower were rusty and lockers were rotten

Fabulous food which you could not fault. Staff were very friendly, lovely comfortable hotel, we will return.

Kelly scored 4 / 5 on 05/10/2021

We were slightly disappointed on arrival as our room was pretty bog standard, quite dated and no "4 star feel" to it. We decided to not let it get to us too much and I'm glad we didn't because we had a lovely 2 night stay in Oranmore. Food was amazing, between breakfast and meals and even down to the toasted sandwich, everything came in a timely manner and piping hot. Staff were overall nice but a big thumbs up to Lauren who works in the bar, she is so friendly and welcoming and has time for her customers! :) I find when you have great staff, it makes all the difference! Thanks for having us Oranmore Lodge Hotel :) All in all, we would stay again.

We were a group of 6 adults staying overnight and would like to compliment the staff from the moment we entered reception until we left the staff could not have been any more helpful , we had dinner which was beautiful both in presentation and taste , breakfast again the next morning was excellent, we would definitely recommend and we will be back, Many thanks

Marie scored 5 / 5 on 13/09/2021

Lovely quirky hotel. A little old fashioned in layout, but big rooms, large windows and high ceilings. Excellent meals, generous portions. Waiting and bar staff were generally very young, just out of school, but were kind and willing. A big plus was giant fluffy towels, we loved the luxury. Bathroom doesn't have bits like shampoo and conditioner-and if you prefer soap, bring your own, but overall a very happy stay.

Really enjoyed our stay, staff were lovely. Room was spacious and clean. Swimming pool was a nice temperature. We paid €423 for 4 nights b&b(just paid for childrens breakfast @5ea) it was worth that money, hopefully they keep the prices as fair as this.

Karen scored 3 / 5 on 03/08/2020

Lovely cosy hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean. Pool was great for kids. The only disappointment was the meal which was included in our stay. We were only allowed choose from a set menu which was very different to the bar menu. The meal was good but just very little choice. Also rooms were a bit dated but overall we had a lovely stay and would come back again.

Karen scored 3 / 5 on 02/08/2020

Nice clean hotel in a lovely location. Food was lovely but not a lot of choice in the inclusive dinner option. Was very rushed also, waitress dumped our bill on the table 2 nights in a row while we were still eating our desserts (we had not asked for it) and we were not offered tea or coffee even though these were included in our dinner option. The room was nice size and clean, bathroom was basic, no extras in it.

Yvonne scored 3 / 5 on 31/07/2020

The hotel itself was lovely, very nice and accommodating staff. Food in restaurant and bar was nice. The rooms were very standard but perfect for what we needed on our trip away with 2 kids. Overall great value for money, and location is ideal only 10 mins away from Galway city centre.

Lovely setting and room was very good with an extra large bed which was great.Excellent choices at breakfast and evening meal.Service sometimes was a little behind but under the circumstances this was understandable all staff very helpful and friendly

Brankica scored 3 / 5 on 24/07/2020

Hotel staff was very professional and friendly. We found rooms dated and a lot of W+T seen, on arm chair and in the bathroom. Cleanliness could be improved, my kids dropped some small Lego on the floor and under the bed there were candies (not ours) which were missed when room was vacuumed. Good care was taken for Covid-19, with breakfast and dinner, also usage of the swimming pool had to be scheduled and time slots were allocated, social distancing was adhered too. Nice setting of the hotel and a lot of greenery around.

Anthony scored 4 / 5 on 22/07/2020

Just back from a four night family stay (two adults, two children 6&7). We had a great time. I highly recommend this hotel, the staff are extremely helpful and professional and were always there to help. The decor is slightly dated in the corridors but our room was fresh and spotless. Our deal included breakfast and evening meals which was great value and we were more than happy to eat in the hotel each night. The children really enjoyed the pool but you need to pre book well in advance to avoid disappointment. The location of the hotel is ideal and lends itself a multitude of activities. I highly recommend the short drive to Rinville Park for ice creams and a great playground.

Mary scored 3 / 5 on 15/07/2020

Lovely hotel bedrooms very spacious staff very friendly and great food.

Ciaran scored 2 / 5 on 14/07/2020

Room was dated and smelled of damp staff were OK but definitely not a 4 star rating simple things like good morning and hello make a lasting impression normally we stay in the clybaun hotel in knocknacara and have to say we were sorry we didn't stay there on this visit to Galway

Allan scored 4 / 5 on 11/07/2020

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Very accommodating.

Mag scored 3 / 5 on 06/09/2017

Hotel was difficult to find, only signposted from motorway & not from town. Room was very drab and we did not consider this to be a 4star hotel

Mature scored 3 / 5 on 07/07/2017

Access from main road was difficult due to narrow entrance avenue. We arrived just as two trucks were trying to exit. Reception & Breakfast were outstanding as were the reception and dining room staff. There was a problem with the main bed in the room. This was brought to the attention of the hotel. We are a very mature couple (70+) who both suffer from serious medical conditions. The proximity of the hotel to the Galway Clinic where this writer was undergoing invasive test procedures was the main reason we selected this hotel. Our main disappointment was on bringing our complaint to light there was no subsequent feedback from the Hotel.

Kieran scored 2 / 5 on 01/01/2017

Not too good at all. Definitely not a 4* , staff very inexperienced, food ok. Cannot cater for wedding and hotel guests at one time. If you leave bar to go to toilet you can come back to no stool, drink and money gone too on another night. Gave me back same drink even though bar man put fingers into it, picking it up. Breakfast area too small and a free for all, nom organization. Lucky to get 2* from me, never again.

Kate scored 2 / 5 on 08/12/2016

Disappointing for a 4 star hotel! Expected better quality. Tap was leaking in bathroom, diner and breakfast were mediocre. But worst of all was the leisure centre experience. The small leisure area with pool filled up with noisy kids and instructors at 4 pm. Parents & kids sitting on the wooden loungers and half of the pool was blocked off for the kids, so no swimming or relaxing possible. Apart from a lovely massage, there was not much left of my relaxing birthday present; we left the place as we couldn't take the noise. Staff could at least have informed us.

Birthday01 scored 4 / 5 on 30/11/2016

I stayed here for one night with my husband and child on a bed and breakfast, 2 course evening meal basis. We had a really lovely stay from the pleasant lady on reception checking us in to the lovely room. The hotel was nicely decorated for Xmas, the bedroom was very clean and nice and warm when we arrived, only downside was that the heat went off after a while and the room got cold later in the night. the room also had a microwave, handy if you have young children travelling with you. We ate in the sunroom and it was a beautiful meal, very nice waiter and bar staff. Up and about the next morning to a lovely made to order full Irish. Didn't use the leisure facilities so cannot comment on these. My little girl had such a lovely time at this hotel that she cried when we were leaving and did not want to come home!! My family and I will definitely be staying in this hotel again. If you do not want to drive into the city then about a five minute walk from the hotel, opposite the Supervalu store is a bus stop which goes into the city centre at regular times, we used this service and it was a lot easier than fighting with the traffic into the city and struggling to find a parking space.

We enjoyed a lovely break recently in the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and very efficient and made us feel "at home". We had dinner and breakfast with our package and the food was excellent. The hotel was packed and that says it all. We had a nice spacious, quiet room on request and it certainly was quiet and we had a very nice relaxing break and will definitely return in the future and will recommend it to others. A big "thank you" to all the staff.

I spent one night in the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. The staff were very friendly but the room was small and in need of updating.Breakfast on Sunday finished at 10am which is early for a weekend.

Padraiginni scored 2 / 5 on 17/05/2016

The night porter was excellent. We checked in very late on Friday 13th and he was very accommodating and welcoming. The breakfast on Saturday morning was very enjoyable. However, the fact that the breakfast is served only until 10am on Sunday morning is definitely a factor that would prevent me from booking this hotel again for a group. The breakfast should be available until 11am on Sundays. Finally, we spent up to 900 euro on accommodation during our weekend stay at the hotel. One booking needed to be cancelled within the 48hrs period and a full nights stay was being charged for this. I did speak to the Manager and she adjusted it to 50% charge, I still felt that due to the total cost spent at the hotel it would have been a good will gesture not to charge the 50 Euro at the end the day.

Ebony scored 2 / 5 on 04/05/2016

bedroom very small, number 318.one locker beside bed and mattress has seen better days.my partner couldn't sleep because of it.the window in the ceiling had light coming in at first light which didn't help either.the food was excellent though.couldnt fault that.

We had a lovely stay in Oranmore Lodge. The staff were very friendly and were very accommodating when we wanted to eat our pre-booked dinner in the bar instead of the restaurant. We also enjoyed spending time in the leisure centre.

Jules0408 scored 5 / 5 on 23/03/2016

This hotel was ideal for a couple with a young baby (11 months). The staff were friendly, courteous and very good at their jobs. They could not do enough to help. The room was lovely and had two double beds which was what we requested. Everything was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool is about 10 steps across the yard which I wasn't aware of but since it was so close, it was not an issue. Towels are provided at the pool which is great. Again, the staff in the leisure centre were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and the restaurant and bar have a lovely atmosphere. There were lots of other families there so it was easy to bring the baby to dinner. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would return. It is only 10 minutes drive for Galway city centre and about 15-20 from Salthill.

Had a fantastic city weekend break with my wife at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very spacious and the beds very comfortable. Lots to see and do in the area plus only a short distance from Galway City where you will have good shopping plus a great selection of bars, restaurants / cafe's. Well worth it and I will be planning a return trip later this year for sure.

Hotel room lovely and staff very helpful. Food excellent . The only down side is that this hotel could do with a little spent on decor. It's a little dated.

Olly scored 5 / 5 on 15/12/2015

Lovely spot, hotel staff were very welcoming, rooms were nice and clean. There was a works Christmas party on the same night that we stayed, most of them were in the bar area before the party started and yet the barman always ensured that we were served in a timely manner. Can't remember the chaps name, but was very professional. Pool and Spa area albeit small was more that adequate and nice and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Colm scored 4 / 5 on 01/12/2015

Great value, friendly staff and good food. The hotel is a bit dated but very clean.

Kw scored 2 / 5 on 24/11/2015

Firstly I like to say on arrival I wasn't very impressed with the outside as it looked dated and gruby and in need of refurbishment. When we checked in the staff were very friendly and reception was nice. Room nice. Back oddly shaped/layed out so everyone wants to sit at one end were the t.v. is and the rest of the bar is empty. Food was very disappointing and we felt it was left overs from the luch earlier and the chicken was overcooked. It didn't help that they never changed the menu one bit for the following evening so you had to pick the same again which was very strange as most hotels would even change the menu slightly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Also very put out that on the Saturday night while having a drink in the bar we were asked to leave because there was a party of 200 people coming and the bar was reserved for them so we had to sit in the breakfast room. Not very comfortable. My husband requested an omelete on the first morning and was told they couldn't make him one. The fact that you have to leave the lodge to go for a swim is awful especially in the cold weather. Showers in the swimming pool were filty and never cleaned, hairs on wall and awful smell and no heating in the dressing rooms. Not a 3 star...maybe a 2 star.

hi, Stayed for one night in a family room. Positives: Receptionist (Tara) on check in very welcoming and helpful, nice room in a quiet part of the hotel which is what we requested, room had a fridge and a microwave which as anyone travelling with a toddler knows makes a difference to any night away!! Ate in the restaurant in the evening, lovely staff especially Bernie (think that was here name)and the food was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. Negatives: Hot water in bathroom was scalding hot, really need to have a sign up to warn you before you turn on the water, mentioned this to receptionist when checking out so hopefully they will resolve this. No heating in the room during the night, no matter what way we turned the thermostat we could not get the heat to work, as we were travelling with a very young child we did not want to call reception as to do so would have disturbed her sleep. Really busy at breakfast, breakfast was nice but it was crazy busy get down well before 10 to get a table. Leisure centre was ok as one reviewer has already said it definitely needs an overhaul. Overall my family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Oranmore Lodge and would return again, the staff were nice, the room was comfortable (apart from it getting chilly at nite!!) and we will definitely be back again.

Trish scored 3 / 5 on 02/11/2015

Booked a 3 night stay 2 adults and 2 children for last week. On arrival we booked in rooms are nice and hotel lovely. However after using the Leisure Center which has cold showers and during the 3 day stay never got any warmer. We then went into the bar to get a sandwich as we had got lunch on the way down and were told that this was not possible as they strictly serve what is on the bar menu and no sandwiches. Therefore we left the bar and never returned to eat there for remainder of stay. Would have thought that any hotel would serve a sandwich!!!

Stayed here in October with my elderly mother. Right from the initial booking we were looked after really well. Tara at reception couldn't do enough for us. Our room was comfortable and extremely clean. The fridge and microwave were a welcome inclusion. We only ate light meals in the bar, but the service was good. I used the leisure centre for swimming and sauna in the mornings. 5 adults filled the pool really as we all wanted to swim lengths. Overall I thought the leisure centre could do with an upgrade. It's not very accessible for people with limited mobility. Likewise the hotel itself has a few steps which could be difficult to negotiate. However, we were offered an alternative room for breakfast if we needed it. As I said, the staff couldn't do enough to help. I'm just saying this in case it's relevant to other guests. It's a lovely hotel and I would stay again.

Ciamie scored 3 / 5 on 15/10/2015

its hard to believe this Hotel is 4 Star. it really needs revamping in a bad way. Old, stale and fusty feel and smell to it. Bathroom very basic, and towels need replacing at this stage. No lock on bathroom door. Breadfast room could not cater for the numbers, felt sorry for staff who seemed under pressure. We were moved to the dining room for breakfast which I was quite glad of as the breakfast room was stifling and stuffy. Had evening meal in the dining room, food was excellent, but again room had a fusty smell to it. One issue which hugely irritates me and has happened in hotels before, on booking this hotel I asked for a large room as our group was grandmother, mother and daughter as opposed to 'traditional family'. My daugher e-mailed before we went and again requested this. We were put in to a small room with 2 beds!! Without unpacking my daughter approached reception and again made our request, pointing out the child was 12 years old!! Receptionist looked at her blankly and said 'you requested a ground floor room' NO WE DID NOT. We were then moved to a room with three beds. Sorry to the nice staff of the Oranmore Lodge who work hard and are reasonably pleasant but we will not be returning here.

Hotel staff very friendly, especially the two young men in the bar/restaurant. We stayed in a family room - two doubles which suited us, the hotel isn't as flash as some we have stayed in, but it had a fridge in the room that we didn't request. Kiddies pool and pool in general great for us, our babies are 2&3 and they loved it. Overall an enjoyable stay, no complaints, would visit again. Great location if you don't want to stay in Galway city, with a cinema, bowling centre, kiddies soft play area all within 5 min drive of hotel.

Stayed at the Oranmore Lodge with my Husband and daughter and booked through the Lidl breaks. The deal was one night B & B and evening meal for 105 euro as it was a 4 star hotel and pay for childs meals. When I went to reception the following morning to pay, I informed the girl at reception that my daughter did not have breakfast and as I thought I should not have to pay the 5 euro for that but she informed me that I have to pay it whether she had breakfast or not and that I got an email stating this. I told her I had not received any email and she insisted that I had and printed off a copy of what I should have gotten. I told her I had not received this and when I noticed that my email address was incorrect she just practically ignored me which is just pathetic. She certainally would not entice me to go back there again.

My Wife and two children, 9 and 6, really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Oranmore Lodge. The staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious with the added benefit of having a fridge in the room, very handy for keeping some drinks and snacks at the ready for the Kids. The food in both the Bar (lunch) and the main restaurant (dinner) was really good. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The pool / leisure centre area were just what the kids wanted, the staff at the pool were very helpful again. All in all a good, pleasant stay.

We have stayed here now on numerous occasions on the Lidl breaks, the food on the DBB menu is excellent, the rooms are clean, and there is a lovely pool. Staff are really nice and welcoming, and breakfast was good, what more could you want

My daughter (nearly 4) and I stayed in a family room with my mum also. We had a lovely 2 night stay with one evening meal. We found the hotel to be very comfortable, friendly staff, and great food, good value also. We made use of the pool, which was lovely, but needs some updating. Overall we really enjoyed our time in Oranmore, and would go again.

Excellent value in the Oranmore Lodge. A spacious, clean room, fine breakfast and helpful staff. This has been my second visit here and I've thoroughly enjoyed both, a little gem of a hotel that offers probably the best value to be had in that part of the world.

Lovely week-end in this hotel.Roomd big and spacious.Staff friendly food average.Breakfast ample . One let down lady at reception very unwelcoming and unhelpful. The hotel is in a lovely setting and has a lovely feel about it.Leisure center perfect . Will return.

Richard scored 4 / 5 on 03/06/2014

Hotel was lovely as was the setting.Food average. One thing which left the hotel down was the lady on reception whether it was the language barrier or just her abrupt manner it left a lot to be desired and left one feeling as if they had done something wrong. Hopefully you won't need to visit reception with a query. Most of the other staff were lovely and helpful. It is however a lovely hotel and we will visit again.

My three sisters and I live in different parts of the country. We love to get together when we can and get away from our daily responsibilities. We were looking forward to a nice peaceful weekend. In a nutshell, this is how our weekend went: I couldn't believe there WAS NO ELEVATOR IN THE HOTEL, THIS WAS NOT IN THE INFO.I had before going there, I just couldn't believe in 2014 a hotel would have no elevator. One of my sisters is in remission from cancer and has difficulty with stairs, this was NOT a good first impression. We went downstairs for what we expected to be a quiet relaxing dinner. Boy, were we in for an unpleasant surprise..There was a first communion "party" in full swing. At least ten children were running and chasing each other around a large area. They were unsupervised, screaming (the noise was worse than ANY childrens party I've ever been to). We finished our meal in haste to escape from the bedlam and returned to the sanctuary of our rooms. We were just getting settled for sleep when A HEN PARTY RETURNED TO OUR FLOOR. The noise was HORRIFIC, doors banging, people shouting, we did not SLEEP UNTIL AFTER 4.a.m. We were exhausted on Sunday, and ANGRY that our weekend was RUINED by noise pollution. Where did this hotel get 4 stars?? NEVER EVER AGAIN.....

Jimmy scored 5 / 5 on 23/05/2014

Very nice hotel, staff in every section was helpful, happy and considerate , we got a upgrade to the bridal suite which was very nice and cosy with the gas fire, needed after the weather turned into a winter rather than summer day, the food was excellent especially the fish dishes, the breakfast was a little of a let down, but quite ample all the same, would return.

Sparkle scored 3 / 5 on 13/05/2014

Nice Hotel and kids enjoyed the swimming pool. The breakfast was fine but I thought the choice was limited and dining room very small. Also we could not get Wi Fi to work with codes we were given but apart from that enjoyed the stay.

Coola scored 4 / 5 on 29/04/2014

Very nice hotel, food pretty basic, but tasty, rooms very clean, leisure centre nice as well. The only thing which I found disaster, was the activities on Easter Sunday morning for the kids. My son was crying coming back from it. Very unprofessional and I have to say very unfair for the kids who didnt get help from the parents with the activities. How come 6 months old baby picked up the stickers from the bar quicker than my 5 years old??? Other than that, everything was very good.

The rooms are big ,bright and clean. The dinner is excellent, the hotel is worth a visit for the dining experience alone and that along with the staff made our stay enjoyable. Free paper with breakfast that has a good selection of hot and cold food. Close to Galway city if you want the bright lights or to shop till you drop. All round great experience. Would highly recommend it .

There was a lovely friendly atmosphere at this hotel. Great choice of dinner menu, food was tasty and serving staff were very friendly. Again, full Irish was available for breakfast and staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend this for family or relaxing get away.

We stayed two nights in March 2014 and were very pleased with the hotel. Service was excellent, the staff really efficient. The twin room with fridge, microwave and kettle was really nice. The leisure centre was top class and we especially enjoyed the jacuzzi. The location is excellent in close proximity to the N17 / N18 routes North or South and near Oranmore village. We used the restaurant on one evening and were very satisfied. There was a great choice on the breakfast menu. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

Bb scored 4 / 5 on 21/03/2014

Visit was low season - beg March, not mid-term or other school holiday. Really enjoyed our stay, the family room was lovely, big and clean. Breakfast very enjoyable, dinners very nice - bar cosy and friendly. Staff attentive. We used the Leisure facilities, preferred to shower after in our own room as the shower was nicer in our room, slightly cramped changing/shower area, but other than that perfect.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Room was quite large and very warm. very pleased with our stay and breakfast was delicious. Hotel is old but very welcoming. Didn't use the leisure centre as our stay was short but would definitely go back. Lovely setting and a nice drive up to the hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly black and white cat which was a bonus for me. Really liked the ambience of the hotel.

Stayed as part of a group, with children, for 2 night b & B, and 1 nights dinner. Found the staff in the restaurant, reception, and breakfast area superb, and very accommodating. Service in the bar area could be hit and miss depending on time of day, and who was serving. Leisure facilities were excellent, and had everything available in changing rooms, including changing mat and travel cot, which I was delighted with as I had a young toddler. Kids loved the pool, which we used both days. Rooms were spacious, and we were delighted to find not only a fridge, but also a microwave. We did find the room uncomfortably warm, we had to get a staff member to turn off the heat in the room with a wrench, and even then the room was still very warm.

We had a great weekend at the Oranmore Lodge, the room was very comfortable as was the whole hotel. We had an undisturbed nights sleep with no noise even where we were at the front of the hotel near the entrance. The staff were all very helpful from the moment we arrived on Friday afternoon until we left on Sunday. Breakfast in the morning was a good hearty one with plenty of choice and the evening meals, one in the restaurant and one in the bar, were superb and well priced if paying separately ( there were good value meal inclusive packages available as well). We used the leisure centre on each of the three days and the facilities there were better than some much more expensive hotels we have stayed in, the pool was first rate and there was a well equipped fitness suite. My wife had the 'pampering', massage on Saturday morning and really felt the benefits of that. There was a small group on in he bar on the Saturday night and the atmosphere was brilliant with a bit of dancing and music tailored to the customers. The hotel is well situated close to Oranmore itself and a few minutes drive from Galway town centre which was a great place to visit. The free Wi-Fi worked well throughout the hotel and there were free newspapers supplied in the very comfortable lobby as well. Our weekend at The Oranmore Lodge was one of the best we have had in Ireland and a lot less expensive than others that were not just as good.

Very disappointing...room was disgraceful even if had been advertised as a 1-star hotel...don't know if it was because we were a family with young children or because we were on a Lidl break that we were given the room we were but since it was advertised as a 4star hotel we were very disappointed..even with no expectation would've been disappointed..The room was freezing..even though radiators were on...bathroom was tiny..no bath...tiles cracked..insects in shower tray..shelf directly above sink so couldn't shave/brush teeth comfortably at all..no comfort/relaxation at all...Breakfast was ok.. On the plus side the staff were lovely& after emailing complaint on our return we were offered free night but as you can imagine doesn't appeal to us at all...Our room definitely needed a major overhaul especially if being advertised as 4star cos very deceptive.

we had a lovely 3 day stay, at the Oranmore lodge hotel.. it was very relaxing and the staff were so nice and friendly.. the room was very spacious and clean. also the food was top quality. well done to the chef !! There was very entertaining music on the Saturday night when we were there . we really enjoyed that.... I had a lovely few hours at the leisure centre which I found very relaxing, so don't forget the swim gear !!! the town of Oranmore was only a 10minute walk which was nice for a stroll after breakfast.. but there was also plenty of lovely restaurant's and pubs for your entertainment... We would recommend the Oranmore for anyone wanting a relaxing break and such a beautiful setting.. We hope to return again ..

Colin scored 2 / 5 on 19/11/2013

The standard rooms in this hotel are very basic and I eneded up paying for an upgrade to a executive suite. Staff were attentive, although the staff in the restuarant seemed under pressure despite the low number of diners. Don't expect a romantic meal here either as the tables very bunched together ( hence the silence). There were complaints from others in the restuarant as to the length of time they were waiting for their orders to be taken, as stated above you couldn't help but hear it. Food was ok and portion size was good. The health centre was ok but the changing rooms were dirty and in need of a major overhall. None of the lockers were working so you couldn't lock your gear away. The changing rooms had no privacy and were visable from the pool area whenever the door was opened. Overall it was ok if you are on a budget but I would not recommend it otherwise.

Joe scored 1 / 5 on 13/11/2013

no atmosphere, dust on glasses and bottles behind the bar, grubby bar, tables in dinning room very close to each other, no music in restaurant as the tables were so close together you could here every ones conversation. The staff had no personality, the food was very average,I definitely would not stay there again,No way is it a 4* hotel

I got a 'Lidl' break deal on this hotel. First,we travelled to Galway from Dublin and its worth bearing in mind it is much more straightforward to go into Galway and get a taxi for 15euro from the station to the hotel. We missed our changeover stop at Athenry to get the train to Oranmore,as the train literally stops for 2 minutes there. We would have had a 40 min wait and still would have been charged the set price of 15e per journey to hotel. Hotel was lovely, very warm,(maybe too warm) and clean. Friendly staff and average evening meal that was included. We paid 7.50 extra for steak which again was average. Wi Fi in the rooms is through a service called Bit Buzz and you have to register your information such as email and telephone number to use it which I didn't like but did so I could avail of the service. The pool is definitely not 4 star quality. It was shabby and outdated and had no private changing areas and didn't look particularly clean. The pool is not big and is 4'6'' in depth the whole way. The towels were very small and not good quality. The steam room and sauna are not too bad and the Jacuzzi was okay, but again I felt it wasn't well maintained. However, it was a nice break, the taxi service to and from hotel is reliable and fairly priced.

We spent the last weekend at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. It was just lovely. From the welcoming receptionist, I believe from Germany to the lovely spacious rooms and much appreciated leisure facilities. Every member of staff we met was so friendly and attentive, even though they had a full house and were on the go the whole time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing weekend away and as it is a stones throw away from Galway City you have the best of both worlds. We will definitley revisit. And by the way our compliments to the Chef - dinner was absolutley gorgeous. Don't change a thing guys. It's all good!! Aileen.

Towels were very poor quality and stained. Requested a quiet room and was given a room at the back of the hotel, road traffic very audible, asked reception if we could have a room at the front of hotel - bad idea, there are starlings nesting in the ivy, and the noise of them early morning and in the evening was just unbelievable. Mentioned it to the receptionist on checking out and she just apologised. Note for future - no quiet rooms during nesting season.

Great val)ue for EUR39 pp including breakfast. Room was spacious and very clean. We had ground floor room at the back (Rm10). No view to speak of but the upside was that the room was very quiet. Nice flat screen TV too. Bathroom was clean and my only comment would be that while half the bathroom is tiled up to the ceiling, the other half is painted with a dado rail. Wouldn't cost much to have tiled the other half of the bathroom too and would make a huge difference. The breakfast was excellent with range of cereals, muffins etc and a hot breakfast which was good. Staff very friendly and no delays checking in or out. Well worth the money. Didn't use the leisure centre but did look. Pool looks nice but only 17m. Gym looks very well equipped too. Reception area very nice. Carpets on stairs a bit jaded though.

Mary scored 4 / 5 on 18/06/2013

We really enjoyed our one-night stay in this hotel. We received a friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I availed of the leisure centre and the gym was modern and well-equipped. We had a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast the following morning had a good variety, although when I asked for poached egg and grilled tomato, the eggs arrived on a small plate, without the tomatoes! I feel the staff were under a little pressure as the majority of the guests seemed to arrive at the same time, and the breakfast room seemed to be a little small to accommodate the large numbers. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again in the future!

Emul scored 1 / 5 on 12/05/2013

Never again, rudest staff I have ever experienced in the Irish Hotel industry. Save yourself some money and aggravation and book elsewhere, unfortunately review doesn't allow less then 1 star. Please note family rooms in the hotel consist of two double beds, and staff / management will NOT accomodate any changes.

A traditional, family run hotel. Stayed just one night with two children and it was lovely... Plenty space in the room and very clean and warm... Kids loved the pool... The bar is great with delicious food and the best pint I've had in a hotel in ages and breakfast also went down a treat !!! Staff lovely and friendly... Only downside was the pillows - flat as pancakes!!! But over all a very enjoyable stay... Not a high end luxurious hotel but very warm and inviting!!!

Extremely disappointing and insulting for lidl break customers.. lidl customers offered substandard rooms and charged extra for adequate rooms. We were allocated room 309. The first thing that hit us was the damp musty smell in the room. Obviously this also occurred to the hotel because the window had been left open to air it. Therefore the room was absolutely freezing. the single radiator in the room was at best tepid and as the ceiling was appproximately 16ft high, the room was never going to heat. The en suite had no radiator or other source of heating. When we complained, an electric heater was supplied but with no reference to the noxious smell. When we complained further, we were offered another room but it was explained as this was a lidl room, there would be an extra charge. We were quoted 20 euro but upon check out this turned out to be a nightly supplement. Went for bar food during a hail shower and the dining room roof leaked. To call this a four star hotel is a joke. Avoid avoid avoid !!!

One great thing about this hotel it did not limit the central heating which so many hotels in Ireland that I have stayed in are currently doing. Would recommend it to my friends and family.

Lovely hotel but doesn't rate as a 4*, no little bottles of shampoo etc in the bathroom, no extras at all in the room, missing the luxury element but everything else was great. Great staff, great food, very clean and comfortable and very short drive to Galway. Very helpful staff and overall very very good to stay. However if you are looking for more luxury not the ideal place to stay.

The leisure centre was top class and staff there were very friendly. The beauty treatment I received was great and the lady was very nice. Food was good but on the expensive side for the times we are in at the moment. Overall it was an ok experince.

Tom scored 4 / 5 on 23/10/2012

everything was great: kind & friendly people, decent, clean room, good swimmingpool, the only 'remark' I can make is about the breakfast, the fruit salad was not really nice and there were not a lot of toppings to put on the bread (no cheese, jam, chocolate...), but this is rather a detail, we enjoyed our stay a lot!

Troy scored 4 / 5 on 16/10/2012

The rates offered by the lidl breaks made this a very affordable break. The food in the restaurant was excellent but the best feature of this hotel is the staff. It may be a few years older than some of it's neighbours but it has a truly homely welcoming ambience which is a rare thing to find. I will certainly be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights mid week. Cannot understand why the hotel has a 4 star rating. The room was very basic and there are no lifts in the hotel at all. So for a disabled person it's a no no. There were bar food menus in the room and on the second day we went to have some food only to be told that there were only sandwiches and this menu was not valid. The first day we got there we went to the bar and there was no bar man/woman. Ten minutes later I went to reception to enquire and was told that there "must be nobody there". Only for another staff member overheard the conversation and got us drinks we would have gotten none! The food in the restaurant was nice but nothing spectacular, again however on the first night after sitting down for our reserved time, I had to go to reception again to get someone to come up to take our orders! I'd say this hotel is a much better place to stay in when it's busy in the summer but I will not be staying there again to find out. Overall the staff were fine though and as a basic stay it's fine but it should be rated as 3 star at maximum.

lovely hotel, stayed for 3 nights with our 10 year old and 8 year old daughters. Great to have fridge and microwave in the family room. Breakfast was great. The only downside was the swimming pool, it was too deep for our children, the water was way over their heads, as they can not swim confidently. The baby pool was too shallow for them. But on the whole, we loved the hotel, staff were really warm and friendly.

The hotel was clean, the food was good and the staff were friendly but I wouldn't stay there again. There were only little things but they bugged me. We had a family room and the door couldn't be closed from the inside and there was only a chain lock on the door at waist level which meant that my 2.5 year old could open the lock and the door. We had to sleep with a chair up against the door. You had go outside the hotel to access the leisure centre which is a pain especially if it's raining. I first went to the leisure centre to enquire if they had a tampax machine and the assistant advised that they did. When I came back down with my son to use the pool the same assistant told me that the machine was out of order and to try the one in the hotel. Back to the hotel. Money in the full machine, no tampax came out. Back to reception to see if they had keys etc. Had to drive to local supermarket. Back to the hotel to finally use the pool. They had painters in in the leisure centre and you had to change in the bathrooms. The pool area was warm but the changing area was freezing. The booklet in the room stated that rom service was until 22:00. When I rang to order I was told that it finished at 18:00. I explained re the room booklet and was told they'd have to ask in the kitchen and they'd let me know. Sandwhiches were later delivered to the room.

We stayed in room 208. It had 2 double beds, both just about big enough. The shower was over a narrow bath. The towels were small and hard. Nothing about this hotel makes it a four star other than the service from the bar staff, one of whom was the owners son.

This is a very lovely hotel. Rooms clean spacious. Staff friendly, this is a very very run and kept hotel we had a very enjoyable stay, just a few minutes walk to the village, we must common on how good the food in the hotel was - it was very good - we would recommend this hotel.

Thumbs up! Stayed for the weekend with our almost 1 and almost 3 year old boys. Bedroom was a good size for the 4 of us. Meals were really good...great selection for breakfast and dinner menu was gorgeous. Staff were really helpful (2 of the ladies were especially wonderful by entertaining our youngest while we had our dinner!). The pool was a handy distraction when weather wasn't great. Good location for driving into Galway/Salthill and just a 10 minute walk away from Oranmore village where we had a really good meal in the Coachmans. The bar looked nice - we didn't get to use it - but did manage a drink in the foyer (thanks to baby monitor app on phone!!).

A nice old style hotel, clean & orderly, staff were very friendly and helpful. especially the girls at reception who were wonderful with our three year old. Breakfast was great, plenty on offer. Microwave and kettle in room. The bath was lovely, fills really quickly and plenty of hot water available. Unfortunately our clever little girl could open the chain lock on the door so had a tendency to leave the room if we weren't watching. The leisure facilities were great, nice size pool, lovely warm Jacuzzi and not too busy. The location was great, close to very scenic area of rinville and maree. Lovely for a drive. and only 10 mins from the city centre. Highly recommended hotel.

excellent hotel well worth staying in when visiting galway. Convienent to city and as a base for touring. Hotel itself is well laid out, rooms spacious and kept very clean - made up each day with fresh towels etc. Staff are very efficient and friendly - applies to all staff reception, dining, bar and housekeeping. One of our party in wheelchair and staff did best to ensure his stay went well. Had dinner on 2 nights in hotel and have to say it was excellent - same applies to breakfast- Bar staff very efficient etc. All in all would have no hesitation in recommending hotel to anyone.

While I know we booked through lidl breaks which was great value, I really did not expect to get the bedroom we did. It was in the old part of the hotel over the bar and had not been renovated in a while. The bed was like one which folded down so had cupboard effect around it! Very spacious but lacking character! Bathroom v basic. Shower tray grubby. Reason was....no water! In fairness they moved us to one of the newer rooms which were really nice. Pity they forgot to take the sambo out of the fridge after the last guests about a week before! However staff in restaurant were nice and food good. Great music and atmosphere in bar.

We (2 parents and 4 boys aged 8 to 14) stayed for 2 nights at the Oranmore Lodge in two adjacent rooms and enjoyed every minute. After having been in bland modern(ized) hotels elsewhere, it was nice to be in an old-fashioned building that retains much of its charm and atmosphere whilst offering all mod cons. We much appreciated the free access to the swimming pool and leisure centre, it was great for the boys to go for a swim after sitting in the car the whole day driving from Dublin on the first day resp. touring Connemara on the second day. The hotel staff were amazing and very helpful, they took good care of us and when one of our sons started to suffer from an infected tooth at 10 pm, they were able to help and direct us to a nearby dentist early next morning. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was very good - my husband had fish on both evenings and said it was cooked to perfection, though the accompanying dishes were once overcooked and the next day slightly undercooked (but then, cooking is an art, not necessarily a reproducible science). Breakfast was excellent and, like dinner, plentiful. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely return when we next visit Galway, especially since Galway city is a mere 10-minute drive away. Many thanks to Mary and all her staff!

We really enjoyed our stay - the staff were excellent and really helpful. The hotel is dated in terms of the decor etc and it is a pity there is no link between the hotel and the leisure centre. The front of the hotel could do with freshening up - even if the car park was re tared and the place cleaned up and plants etc cleaned up this would make a huge difference to the place.

Trish scored 2 / 5 on 03/04/2012

found this hotel to be very basic could not understand why it is rated 4star as the bed was very hard and not at all comfortablein fact it felt like a very low quality bed.The food was very basic the bread was dried out as if it had been sitting out for too long on the table over all it was not a very pleasent experience for myself and my husband as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we definitly will not be returning

Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were satisfatory - just what you need for a two night break. Staff very frendly, and helpful. Breakfast, and bar food, very good. Everyone enjoyed the leisure centre as well. Great access to Galway city - only 10mins drive away, and to motorway - very easy to find hotel. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

My Mother, Sister and I stayed in a triple room for two nights. Our first impression of the hotel when we walked into the foyer is that it could do with a nice new carpet or some nice wood floors to brighten it up but still keep it's character. We were also amazed that there were no lifts whatsoever as my Mother is just recovering from a knee op and I noticed a lot of older people struggling to get up the stairs. Obviously, people with disabilities would have to hope that there are vacant ground floor rooms if they want to book this hotel. Very pungent smell also on the corridors which seemed to emanate from the carpets. All that said, the staff were absolutely outstanding and could not do enough for us. They really deserve credit and I think the hotel will get a lot of repeat custom solely on the back of the fantastic customer service. Credit must definetely also go to the chef!!!. Food very tasty and plenty of it. The chef never gets enough recognition as they are behind the scenes but the food really made the weekend. I hope all the staff are being paid well for their efforts!!!!. Our room was functional and clean and at least we could make tea and coffee. Could have done with more towels though. Beds very comfortable. Overall, even though very unimpressed with smelly old carpets throughout the hotel, my family and I said that we would definetely return due to fantastic staff and food.

I was very disappointed with the standard of this hotel. I'm very curious as to how it achieved a 4 star rating. The room was horrible, the TV reception was very poor and couldn't be fixed. Ended up leaving the hotel after 10 minutes and booked into the Loughrea Hotel instead. This was another 4 star hotel only 20 minutes away and the difference in quality was massive.

We were dissapointed that there was no music & hardly any people in the bar on Sat. night even though there were a lot of guests staying in the hotel. This is not a hotel we would ever go back to. We had a very enjoyable mid term break. The hotel was busy which was good to see and added to the atmosphere. It's tastfully decorated and cosy. The staff are really nice and pay special attention to children. The room was spacious and clean. We used the gym and pool facilities which were great. They provided great breakfasts with a huge range of food for all tastes. I would recommed a stay here especially when you get a great deal with Lidl.

We were very disappointed with the standard of the hotel. It certainly wasn't a 4* room that we got. Perhaps we got a sub-standard room because it was booked through Lidl Breaks. Also around the floor of the ladies changing rooms in the leisure center their was some sort of fungus-mushroom growing. Certainly wouldn't return or recommend!

Ak scored 4 / 5 on 21/02/2012

Our first impression of the decor of the hotel foyer and room was deceiving of the quality of the overall stay as both areas are in need of modernisation. However the warm welcome we received at our evening meal in the restaurant and again the following morning at breakfast and on check-out was lovely. The quality and portion size of the food was excellent so although the hotel is in need of modernisation it more than made up for this in these other areas. Our room consisted of two double beds so both our children had to share a bed, a downside to be warned of if they are not used to this at home. We did not use the leisure centre, had a look in and the pool appeared to be small but had a good seperate baby pool attached.

We stayed 2 nights and overall found the stay very enjoyable. Our room was lovely, however we could have done with more towels (2 hand towels and 2 pretty small bath towels for 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 child). We had our evening meals in the bar both nights and the food was excellent. Really big helpings of everything and the bar staff and reception staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay in the hotel again.

To be honest the hotel room was good, as for the dining room for the evening meal it was cold with a smell of damp in the room, there was a breeze coming in through the window and it closed... the food we got for the evening meal was just OK the starter was lovely but the pasta and chicken seemed to have been heated in a microwave because the chicken was tough the the edges of the pasta were all dried up and hard. It is definitely not a four star hotel as it says on the website, it may have been some years ago but not now. Was disappointed overall in the stay here. *

We were not overly impressed by te hotel. The interior standard was not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. We ate in the hotel one night and found the staff te by lackadaisical with ordering it took 20 mins for someone to take our order even though there was only one other table in use. The food was also under par with the steak being over cooked chicken under cooked and the potatoes also under cooked. In terms of helpfulness when i asked reception could I have some ice an glasses brought to the room i was advised to go to the bar. Overall it was not the bet hotel experience I have ever had. And could not see myself returning to the hotel.

Myself and my family stayed in the Oranmore Hotel for three nights accommodation at Halloween. Given the bad weather the swimming pool was the holidays saving grace. The pool is spacious and clean and has a kiddies pool which was great. It also has a Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam room and small but adequate gym which we could avail of free of charge. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly but were run off their feel when we were there which led me to believe that they were understaffed. The price paid for the three nights was very good. However I do not believe that the hotel is a 4 star hotel but more of a 3 star. I am not sure what makes up the guidelines for the star ratings any more or whether the ratings requirements dropped. Rating is 3

I stayed in the Oranmore lodge with my two sons and mother for one night for dinner bed and breakfast. I found the hotel really nice and the food within the meal deal was exceptional. Not the usual hotel food, beautifully presented and plenty of it. As it was a sunday night, the breakfast the next morning was cooked individually and not buffet style, therefore it was nice and not with cripsy bacon. I would like to give exceptional praise to Patrick, who, as it was a quiet Sunday night, was working on the reception and in the dining room, he made myself and the boys most welcome. The pool was a fantastic addition for the boys, with the only downside in that you have to walk out side to it, and the changing rooms were a bit chilly. I would definitely like to return, maybe a romantic getaway.

While I think the Lidl breaks are great value for money, I did'nt think the Oranmore Lodge Hotel was up to four star standard. The bed was very uncomfortable and needs a new mattress - I was glad that i was only there for one night and there was a lack of toiletries The hotel in general needs a refurbishment as it is dull and not very inviting. I will not be returning to the Oranmore Lodge but hope to try some of the other hotels on the Lidl list.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff and good service. We had a family room and were impressed with the size. With small kids, the fridge in the room was a bonus. Rooms were quiet. The leisure centre was great, we used the pool every day, really clean. The pool is smaller than most we have been to though it didn't matter on this occasion as there few people using it when we were there- it might get a bit crowded in high season though. We had a meal in the restaurant which was nice but would highly recommend the Basilico Restaurant (Italian) in the town. Supervalu and Tesco a short walk away if you are thinking of a picnic. Galway City a short bus ride away if you want to leave the car for the day. This is the first time we have been on a Lidl Break. So easy to book and really great value. Would definitely recommend them.

We think that the Lidl break was really good value for money and we would definitely be booking through them again.

We stayed in the Oranmore Lodge with my parents for the 2nd time in twelve months. While the rooms might be a little dated they are large, bright and very comfortable. The hotel is spotless and the staff are very accommodating and professional. The bar and dining room have been recently renovated and look fantastic.Value for money is excellent. My only small complaints are there was no music in the hotel bar as was advertised (the band last time were fantastic so it was a little disappointing) and pool can be a little chilly. Overall a great traditional hotel.

Bar food was very good and bar staff very friendly. Not a very cosy bar much too bright. The pool was being cleaned so they got to swim on Sun morning and they really enjoyed it. Sat morning breakfast was super, served at the table (am only sorry we didn't get her name). Nothing was a problem and if there were more people like this, this the world would be a happier place. There was no noise problem and everything was very relaxed. Thank you to the girl on reception on Sunday morning - I hope you get to take up crochet again!! We will be back.

Photo of pool shown here is not what is at the hotel. We recently stayed here and the dinner was fantastic! However no heat in the room and a wonky TV ( which was eventually replaced) took from our stay a little. Staff v friendly.

ENJOYED OUR STAY AT ORANMORE LODGE. UNFORTUNATELY OUR ROOM WAS COLD AT NIGHT AND EVEN WITH EXTRA BLANKETS IT WAS HARD TO SLEEP. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE HOTEL STAFF EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

We had a wonderful time, the hotel were very understanding and gave my wife an I a ground floor room as my wife is 7months pregnant. The bar food was excellent. We would have paid about 50.00 euro more booking on the hotel website. The staff were very helpful and chatty. There were alot more people staying at the weekend but service was brilliant. Hope to go back and will be booking through Lidil breaks again.

David scored 3 / 5 on 05/10/2010

The hotel is nice with very friendly staff, my room was great, two double beds, TV, Microwave, tea and coffee making facility's and a mini fridge. quite rooms, I didn't hear any noise. the menus looked expensive, so I ate at the "city limits" Amazon restaurant which is almost next door and i give that a must try, value for money. the photo's on this web page show a larger pool with gym above, that pool is not at this hotel (it must be in the matrix somewhere!?) the one with the red water umbrella is, and is detached from the main hotel. sat night at the hotel bar was grim, just sports on the TV, no music, although a band was booked they cancelled. But the friendly staff put music on later. I booked a room here for myself for one night and found it a little expensive at %u20AC78. This being a joined family holiday the other members in my family found it to be great value such as my Sister who had 2 Adults and 3 kids in one room for a total of %u20AC78 although I did ask for a single supplement at reception I was told the deal is cheaper, normally it would be %u20AC110 for one person per night. Overall a good, quite, relaxing hotel near Galway city

my daughter and myself spent a very pleasant lidl break at your hotel recently and have recommended to many of my friends. The staff were very friendly and really made us welcome. Found it very convenient to galway and renvyle which is a very pleasant walking area Hoping to send another break in your hotel in the future Regards Margaret

To whom it concerns, We had a very pleasant stay in your hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean. The dining room was a bit cramped. While the all inclusive B/B or B/B & evening meal was very good value, The Hotel A la Carte menu was extremely expensive, which meant we had to eat elsewhere. We like the choice to eat out if we have traveled off somewhere, but would like also to be able to eat in the hotel too. Yours Sincerely Tommy Greene

i was very pleased with the oranmore lodge, the room was beautiful, the decor may need a bit of updating. but on the whole it had everything that was needed.the staff were really helpful.e.g. we arrived friday evening and were too tired to go out.we had a meal in the bar.it was very enjoyable.we were going to retire early and watch t.v. in the bedroom .i follow big brother and it was evictiion night.unfortunately we couldnt get channel .i rang down to reception and think it was david or paul that came up to try to tune it in. it wasnt to be.he rang back from reception to tell us it would be on tv in bar.so we went there to watch it. nothing was too much trouble for the staff.very friendly.and courteous.i didnt know lidl did breaks away it was my husband reading one of the shopping receipts.out of curiousity that i checked it out on website. very good value for money and as i was going to christening in galway that weekend i checked prices for other hotels and they were very expensive and i wasnt about to pay what they were asking.i wouldnt have gone to the christening as i couldnt afford that kind of money.so i was pleasently surprised to discover that your company offered 2 nights incl breakfast for 80euro.wow too good to pass up.i am afraid to recommend you cos i dont want everyone to book through you cos you might up the prices.ha ha .i know for a fact other guests at christening paid 3 times that to stay in other hotels.

nice hotel have stayed in nicer four stars however, was good value for money.breakfast was very nice and well presented.

Idiottje scored 2 / 5 on 08/07/2010

This is not a 4 star hotel. If you are staying here, you will need a car to get to the city. Swiming pool was clean, as were the showers in the Sports Centre. Kiddies pool is not great though. Breakfast was good, room was clean and serviced every morning. Bathroom was clean. Over all not bad, but far from a 4 star hotel. Second time using Lidl Breaks. Over all very happy with the value for money.

Booked three nights B&B through Lidl breaks and believe that this represents considerable value for money at 35 euro per night pps. Had dinner in the bar on arrival and found it quickly served, cooked as we had asked and of high quality. Room spacious and well appointed with fridge, microwave, kettle, utensils and crockery. Large TV but no phone - maybe not needed in these days of mobiles. Buffet breakfast catered for a wide range of Irish and continental tastes, was quickly and pleasantly served and well cooked. Staff were invariably pleasant, efficient and accommodating.

Mary scored 5 / 5 on 04/07/2010

Had a Great time . Food and rooms Very good. Staff very plesant and helpful. Breaksfast dining room not very suitable for anyone who would have difficulty with steps as there are 2 steps down to breaksfast room. I saw a couple of people having a lot of difficulty. Wouldnt class the diningroom or bar area 4 star . But it was a lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay not far from galway and the burren. Mary

Had a great short stay in the Oranmore Lodge. The rooms were great and very clean. The food served was of superb taste and the portions were generous. All the staff we encountered were excellent. Would recomend this hotel to anyone.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but overall the hotel and its facilities are in need of an upgrade. It is certainly no longer a 4 star hotel.

Great hotel, breakfast and dinner delicious, with the lidl break it was insanely good value for money. Staff were excellent, rooms pleasent. leisure centre was very nice, grounds lovely. great for a quiet weekend away or a family break. bar very nice too, very close to Galway city if you fancy that, we also took day trip drive around the burren so the hotel was in a great location for heading in that direction.

Sharon scored 5 / 5 on 30/06/2010

The hotel was basic, however, two fabulous evening meals and a breakfast more than made up for it. Very good value for money and excellent service.

We found it great value for money. The room was very comfortable, the food was great and the staff were very friendly. Can't comment on the leisure club as we didn't use it. The only fault was no Beamish in the bar.

Lovely place ... and lovely Staff.. i will stay again.. one downfall..... i did not like the hotel taking payment from my credit card when we checked in...

Eileen scored 4 / 5 on 29/06/2010

The hotel was very comfortable, the staff were lovely and very helpful, couldn't do enough for you, the food and the room was very nice. I never tried the leisure club so couldn't comment. The only thing I found was it was a bit noisy very early in the morning around the hotel, I normally am up early but found this a little annoying, I'm not sure if it was bin men or they were getting oil delivered so obviously this wouldn't happen every day. other than that I loved it and would stay again, and it was great value.
