We were allocated a newly refurbished room. Spacious and very well decorated. Breakfast was excellent (This was our 3rd hotel that week) and staff were very pleasant. We also ate in the bar and the food was excellent, and reasonably priced. This was my 2nd stay there, and I would certainly return.

I was very impressed and pleased with this hotel. It is good value for money. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Terrific breakfast with great variety. There is a bus stop to city centre nearby. However it is quite convenient to city centre, a city that is lively and exciting

Myself and my husband had a two night stay here. We had a very pleasant time here. To our surprise on check in we were informed that we had a suite reserved for us.This obviously added to our very enjoyable stay. All of the staff we came in contact with were polite professional and very courteous. The food in the bistro was excellent and breakfast as well as the full irish had so much more to choose from Will definitely look forward to staying here again in the future

I recently stayed just for one night it was just a mini break and to go to christmas markets in eyre square. Absolutely lovely hotel, the staff really friendly and helpful everyone of them from reception, waitress, bar staff, cleaning staff all very well trained. One was always greeted with a smile. The room was so lovely very cosy everything was clean and all the facilities you would need. Food first class our deal was b & b and evening meal very good value. I must mention there delicious homemade brown bread. It is in a great location only about 15 minutes leisurely walk to Eyre Square and plenty of shops within 10 mins walk. Looking forward to going back there again. Highly recommended.

Dave scored 4 / 5 on 03/12/2013

Myself and my wife decided on the Menlo Park Hotel, we hadn't been before but enjoy Galway and its laid back surroundings. The website looked very professional and there were some nice pictures of the rooms. My verdict was that the room itself surpassed my expectations, being quiet and spotless clean with a big en suite and shower. Flat screen TV with a range of channels to view. Very comfortable bed with nice view. The staff were tentative and professional to our needs and the food in the Menlo park was very tasty and reasonable on the pocket. We have stayed in other hotels during our stays in Galway but will certainly come here again and would recommend to others planning a visit to Galway. Dave Tullamore

Jaga scored 5 / 5 on 04/11/2013

Fantastic staff at all levels make this hotel memorable! We got an upgrade to an executive suite which was really lovely. The bar food and breakfast comprised excellent quality ingredients, well cooked and nicely presented. The hotel's location is great (Friday's afternoon traffic notwithstanding!), we are looking forward to another break soon.

Rossamac scored 5 / 5 on 25/10/2013

We availed of a competitive two night midweek break deal there earlier this week, with breakfasts and a dinner included, and have no complaint whatsoever, even to be initially praise-stingy. The rooms were spacious, well furnished, well serviced and spruce. The staff were universally friendly, efficient, professional and accommodating. The food and drink provided for breakfasts and our three course dinner was of a very good standard. The location of the hotel is handy for arrival and exploring outside the city while also usually being convenient for Galway city centre, and we were undisturbed by noise. (Do watch out however for bad Galway City traffic - they were/are doing highly disruptive roadworks on the critical Bodkin roundabout there - and do expect to pay Dublin-level hourly parking prices if thinking of taking a car into town - those things obviously being no reflection on the hotel though). All in all, a big thumbs up for the Menlo Park, based on our experience.

Imre scored 4 / 5 on 11/02/2013

The Hotel is located walking distance from the city, so you can park your car at the hotel and you can just enjoy the city. The food was excellent , or even more , congratulations for the chef. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable and we did enjoy our stay there. The room was spacious and beautiful, the furniture was brilliant, just what we need. The only negative moment is that the walls our paper thin, so we could listen to the TV which was on in the other room when we were about to get some sleep. Thankfully they stopped watching TV at 1am , so everything was all right than. I would highly recommend this hotel during peek season due the walls, but I wouldn't go there at Summertime when every single room is taken.

Redser scored 5 / 5 on 16/01/2013

M McGhee booked 2 rooms on a short city break. Stayed at the Menlo Park Galway for three nights 18th-20th Oct 2011 On entering the hotel we found it to be pleasant and relaxing with a nice atmosphere. Greeted at check-in by Gina who was very pleasant and welcoming. Check-in was smooth and quick. We were allocated rooms on the 2nd floor which were clean, comfortable and well appointed. The bar area is very pleasant and a nice place to relax. This is used by many locals which is usually a good sign. We ate in the bar which provides a good menu. The standard of the food and presentation was very good. The service in the bar was extremely good and always with a genuine smile. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfast was good. A good choice on offer and different diets catered for. The standard of food was very good and the staff very pleasant which helped start the day off well. The location of the Hotel is close to a busy roundabout but inside the Hotel you would never be aware of this. Galway City is approx. 1 mile. Once you have crossed a couple of busy roads it is an easy 15-20 min. stroll along a straight road or a 10 euro taxi ride. The City itself has plenty to offer and gives a safe comfortable feeling day or night. All in all this was very enjoyable and very good value for money. Nothing about this Hotel could be faulted and the staff are credit. Whenever we come back to Galway, which we will, the Menlo Park will be our preferred Hotel.

Yes I would like to leave a review but it is not letting it load up so I am forwarding it to you and perhaps you can load it up on the site for me. This hotel should not be a 4 star hotel. It is a 3 star or maybe even 2 star hotel in my view. Very basic hotel with many areas needing improvement and attention. I booked a twin room and was checked into a double - this really annoys me when hotels do this. We were then moved and we were given a room with a single and a double bed. I took the single bed and the mattress was completely broken. One side of it had completely sunken and was absolutely flat and the other side was kind of ok so this meant I kept almost rolling out of the bed. I did not sleep well at all while staying at this hotel. Another problem is the heating. The whole hotel is ridiculously hot. Even after we turned the radiator off the room was roasting, it is on a busy road/roundabout and so opening the window is just not an option with the outside noise. Also the cleaners seemed to keep turning the radiator back on. There was a group of us staying in the hotel occupying 3 different rooms and this was the case in all rooms. The breakfast is really really bad, the bacon and sausages are the fakest looking food I have seen in a long time, I am pretty sure if health and safety people came to check they would be made to throw it out. It was a very strange colour. The staff at the hotel were quite friendly and it is a convenient location if you have a car otherwise you are better off paying that bit extra and staying in the city centre so you don't have to get taxis all the time. All in all I will never be staying here again. Because we got it for such amazing value I did not compain - the Lidl Breaks offers are unbelievable and I would certainly book through this website again however if I had been payng the proper price for this hotel I would have certainly complained. It was just about worth the %u20AC30 we paid per night, just about.

Stayed for just one night at the Menlo Park hotel In Galway last Sunday night, using the excellent value lidl hotel breaks has to offer, %u20AC49 for b&b and dinner, and the hotel is gorgeous. We had a lovely room, with plenty of space, fine comfy huge bed, and a large bathroom, there was two armchairs as well in the room, which was nice for lounging about in. The meal was lovely, plenty of choice, but what makes this hotel special is the staff, every single one of them were helpful and courteous, and couldn't do enough for you, especially the lovely young man on reception (Conor) who was very helpful to us. Will definately stay here again, well done to all the team at the Menlo for a job well done.

A fantastic value for money break. Really lovely staff. Food was served in the dining room and it was very good. Room was lovely. Breakfast was really good with a great selection of choices. Would reccomend this hotel & would stay here again.

Richard scored 4 / 5 on 06/01/2011

The Menlo Park is a well-located hotel with adequate parking and friendly staff. The rate for this standard of accomodation through Lidl breaks was good value. The only area where the hotel's standard failed to satisfy was the cooked breakfast (some of which had been dried up by sitting in an oven too long). But overall we were quite happy with our stay and thank the staff for their courtesy and assistance.

Staff make you welcome from the first minute you get there. Excellent service at all times. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone - rooms are clean, warm, and very spacious. My only complaints with this hotel are - 1) you need to hire a taxi at EUR8 a journey to get in and out of the city centre if you want to drink and socialise in the city centre. 2) It doesn't have a leisure centre - although there is an arrangement with another hotel that does have one, but the distance can be offputting.

We stayed in the Menlo Hotel on Friday evening last. We arrived approx 9.30 p.m.. We found the Reception Staff very friendly and welcoming. Rooms very satisfactory, comfortable and clean. We ordered room service which was quick and efficient. Breakfast was lovely the following morning and as I was not familiar with parking in Galway City, the kindly let me leave my car in carpark. Overall very good. Lidl breaks very good and definately value for money.

I recently stayed in the Menlo park Hotel for one night, it was the Friday of the October bank holiday. The service on arrival could not have been any better, we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff at reception. Check in was speedy&efficient, and we were also asked if we needed help with our luggage(even though we only had one small bag each) The room was very spacious-a double room was booked and there was a double&single bed in the room. We had dinner in the bar, and again the staff could not have been more friendly. The food was gorgeous and even though the bar was very busy we were not waiting too long for the food to arrive. Unfortunately we didnt make it down on time for breakfast but I'm sure it would have been to a high standard. Overall my stay in the hotel was definitely 4 star quality, the only downfall is that we only stayed the one night!!! Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone.

Really enjoyed this hotel, Staff were very efficient and friendly, different menu for Lidl customers, no bother, all meals were quite good. Enjoyed it so much we opted to stay an extra night, however we were quoted %u20AC85 for an extra night - room only, which went to %u20AC75 and eventually %u20AC65, which we settled for. However we really enjoyed our stay at the Menlo Park and would definatley return again. Weather was fine and the walk to the City Centre was on average 20 minutes. Taxi back to the hotel at night was only %u20AC7 euro which we thought was quite reasonable.
