Reviews for `HILTON DUBLIN KILMAINHAM`

Gerry scored 5 / 5 on 01/02/2016

I stayed in the Hilton in Kilmainham with my daughter on Dec 20th +21st. We had only planned a one-night stay but unfortunately my daughter took sick (with the Norovirus!) and we had to stay an extra night. All the hotel staff were wonderful with us, very understanding and helpful. The staff on the desk made no issue of us not checking out as we should have done and organised us to have the same room for the second night. I would particularly like to single out Aurimas the night porter who could not have been kinder and more helpful. He made toast and coffee for me and brought it to the room and rang several times to see if there was anything else he could do to help us. He had a very professional and courteous manner, whilst being sympathetic to our dilemma. I have stayed at the Kilmainham on numerous occasions and find it an excellent hotel in every way.

Had an beautiful stay at the Hilton Kilmainham. The room was beautiful , food was to high standard and the staff were very friendly. I got a very reasonable rate. I will stay again on my next trip in Dublin.

Excellent hotel and great value for B&B!

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton,Kilmainham for a two night stay over the Hallowe'en weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Hilton is perfectly located for visiting the historic Kilmainham jail and the Museum of Modern Art, both of which we visited. The hotel staff were very helpful with advice on transport options to the city centre etc. We opted to dine in the restaurant on the first evening which was a great choice. We both had steak as main course which was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and good humoured. We found the bedroom to be spotless, and comfortable, if a little too hot! (The weekend was unseasonably warm). I would highly recommend this hotel.

Annie scored 5 / 5 on 02/11/2015

hotel lovely, rooms large and spacious, food in restaurant very good and service excellent. Only negative comment I would say was the breakfast service etc. Had to ask for several items for the table for example, milk, side plate, tea and coffee. good selection of food for breakfast so overall it was good.

Nora scored 4 / 5 on 30/10/2015

Lovely friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Super location only a €10 taxi to town or bus down the road. Straight across the road to Kilmainham Gaol for the year that is in it :) Fab hydro pool and spa but not for swimming as such. Lovely dinner and big choice for breakfast.. Parking on site for €12 well worth it. highly recommend it!!

Hotel room, facilities and staff are all fantastic. Especially receptionist and waiter. Unfortunately the food was very very poor. Came out very cold and was tasteless. Raised it to the waiter and more cold mashed potato was brought out. Genuine case of style over substance/basic cooking standards. Pity because everything else was really great.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel last weekend, we were even upgraded to a Junior Suite upon check-in. Love this site for great value breaks.

I really enjoyed my overnight stay in this hotel. The only issue I had was I was assigned a room with a view of the rubbish bins. However the room was spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable also. When I requested extra toiletries these were supplied immediately. The evening meal was very nice and the breakfast was delicious serving items to suit all tastes. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. I would suggest to the hotel that if requested they should, as far as is possible, offer a room with a nice view.

Nice hotel. Food ok , good selection for breakfast. First pot of tea insipid but replaced quickly by very nice waiter. Lovely hydrotherapy pool and jacuzzi. Nice comfortable bed and room. BUT an annoying din which heightened in volume and vibration from time to time and woke us. Maybe from fans or extractors ? Would stay again but would ask for a room away from the noise !

Marguerite scored 3 / 5 on 17/09/2015

Very nice hotel and leisure centre. Room very comfortable and spacious. BUT very noisy with a din which increased in volume and vibration from time to time. Annoying and woke us too. Possibly extractors or fans ?

Noels scored 3 / 5 on 08/09/2015

Reception staff were so friendly and helpful, they wrote us a lovely card which was left in our room with some deserts for our anniversary! Lovely touch. The room itself was nice, though I found it an uncomfortable sleep due to the heat of the room at night. The food in the restaurant wasn't great, I was disappointed that it was the same menu all three nights that I stayed as there wasn't much of a selection, the bacon dish was so salty and the mushroom lasagne inedible (and I am not a fussy eater)- beakfast was great however. I don't think I will return to this hotel unfortunately.

Excellent hotel. I had a lovely room. Despite being in the city room was quiet. I loved the pool. All areas of the hotel were very clean. It serves what I think is the best breakfast in Ireland.

James scored 1 / 5 on 20/08/2015

Have stayed here before and had great experiences. This one was not up to scratch. Hotel and room and pool etc. was good. Dinner and breakfast were a disaster. Had to wait far too long to be seated at both. And then at the end of the meal we left and were called back by the waiter for payment. We explained it was a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. And he insisted he couldn't charge it to the room. I even had to show him the email. (this was all happening in front of other customers). After him embarrassing us, he brought us out to the front desk to check. We again waited. He then said "It is okay, you can go". There was no apology. Breakfast was also bad. We were brought in by a waitress you brought us to two tables only to realise they had no tables set up. We sat down and it was then set up. We went for food. There was no bowls. They then brought out massive dessert bowls instead. There were no mushrooms. The full fat milk ran out and was not replaced leaving only semi-skimmed. Overall the restaurant has let the hotel down. We have thoroughly enjoyed other stays here, but as a result of this stay, will not be coming to this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay here. We arrived late, quickly checked in and went straight for dinner, which was fab! Reception staff extremely friendly. Lovely staff also in the dining room for dinner!! Breakfast staff on the other hand were a disaster, you are such an inconvenience to them and they were so rude. The tea/coffee pots are at the host desk and they are like stew they have been sitting there so long, dare you ask for a fresh pot!! BUT other than that we couldn't fault it. We didn't get to the fitness center but we intend on doing so the next time.

Could not fault our stay at Hilton Kilmainham in any way. V comfortable stay, friendly staff, spotlessly clean, welcome pack of bottled and carbonated water was an added bonus. Would definitely return in future without hesitation. Location was fantastic also - just a 30 to 40 minute stroll into the heart of Dublin. Would give a 5 star rating.

Good hotel lovely room bed was massive and comfy. Hydrotherapy pool was great. Dinner and breakfast lovely. Only complaint it says on website that it's on the doorstep of national museum but it's quite a long walk. No music/entertainment in bar on bank hol.not a central hotel if that's what you looking for. Really enjoyed good value for money relaxing.

Myself my boyfriend and some friends stayed here last weekend for 1 night. The receptionist was so nice recommending clubs and places to eat. The rooms were gorgeous and spacious. The pool area was amazing and was my favourite part of the hotel. Breakfast was included in the deal we booked. This is were we were let down, we felt like we were been attacked. Myself and my sister were going up to get drinks after been seated and a staff member called Catherine yelled at us in front of everyone asking what are we doing. I was humiliated as everyone looked over at us. On top of that she ignored one of our requests. I found her to be rude and abrupt and not friendly at all. In my opinion she let the hotel down.

Have stayed in the Hilton a few times now and always happy with their B&B offering. However, their B&B plus evening meal proved disappointing and probably a good example of 'you get what you pay for'. The two course inclusive menu consisted of bacon & cabbage, roast chicken and gravy, a vegetarian option and salmon with potatoes. More of a lunch time menu. You wouldn't opt for a bottle of wine to compliment any of those dishes. However, they more than make up for this with their breakfast, which is excellent.

Joh scored 3 / 5 on 19/02/2015

My partner and I were treating ourselves to a well deserved night out in Dublin. We decided to take the great offer on your web site. We stayed at the Hilton in Kilmainham. The food was excellent, we both really enjoyed the dinner. The room that we had at first appeared to be well decorated and clean. When we went to bed that night we were unable to sleep. The noise in our room was deafening. There was a rumbling sound of fans and it sounded as if we were on top of a very loud engine. Unable to sleep we went to the reception and were told it was fans from the kitchen and it would stop in an hour. Sadly it did not stop and we sat up all night in the room until 5:30AM when the noise stopped. We went to breakfast so tired we could not eat. We complained to the manager and he told us that all he could do was apologize and give us 10% of the bill. At that point in the morning we were so tired and had to drive back to Tipperary 10% of our bill was not making it right. We left so angry and tired and very disappointed . Needless to say we will never return to the Hilton Kilmainham.

To be fair, we don't get out a lot. 2 little darlings and house down the Country mean that the (very!) occasional weekend/night away in he "big smoke" is to be done with planning - and done right :) The booking experience was V Positive - mainly due to the price via my IBOA membership - exceedingly good value (€81)for a hotel only a stones throw from the city center (under a €10 from the far side of the city on a busy Saturday night). for two - including breakfast! First impressions were really positive also on arrival - modern and airy, clean and with some of the best customer service I have encountered in a long while. Often customer facing staff can be brusque or not interested, the front of house team at Kilmainham were excellent, with genuine warmth and personality being evident. Our first pleasant surprise was the free upgrade to one of the larger rooms with a balcony and view of the Gaol on the top floor, due to it being our anniversary. The room was a very good size for city hotel and sparklingly clean with a 42 inch flatscreen, king size bed and large walk in shower type bathroom. We then tried out the bar for lunch and was pleasantly surprised for the quality of the steak sandwich and weisbeer provided. Although it wasn't cheap, the quality was definitely there and the food was very good indeed. Again the staff were personable and helpful, without being intrusive. Often a very hard combination to find. After a great evening out in Dublin, we came back (late!) to find a plate of little cakes in our room with a "Happy Anniversary" message written in chocolate on the plate - together with a little card. These are the things that make the difference. After a very pleasant nights sleep, breakfast was also good - served in the restaurant, generally the hot buffet was very good - with the scrambled eggs being of particular note - often they can either be rubbery or mush - these were very good. They also provide a chef service if you require poached eggs et al. It has been a long, long time since we stayed and partied in Dublin - possibly since before the crash - but this has been one of the better experiences we have had - in any city. The hotel went some way to this and I can't stress enough how good the service we received was, or the quality of the food and rooms overall. Once you factor in the excellent price, you can't really lose on this one... Thanks to all the team in Kilmainham Hilton!

Forget Paris, Forget Rome Forget New York. This is the most Romantic place in the world. We have stayed in the Hilton a few times the staff are pleasant the gym and pool cant be beaten the rooms are great, we and have eaten there too, the food is perfect. My review is about the area rather than the hotel. But this is the reason to stay there. After a drink in the lounge which is reasonably priced for a Hilton we went for a walk to increase our hunger levels. On the way back we noticed a small Italian eatery over the Pub "The Patriot" we decided to eat out for a change. I won't review the place that's not fair. We sat upstairs beside a window and as we chatted (we are a couple) I could not help but take in the beautiful a view (Of course I refer to my good lady as well as the surroundings) Beneath me I had a Pub named the Patriot after all the men who gave their lives for this country, possibly even used by them and soldiers at the time, to my left was Kilmainham gaol now a museum where leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, were imprisoned and executed, and the song "Grace" comes to mind a tragic romance of that period. To my right stands the royal Kilmainham Hospital whose history dates back to 1684 where the graveyard bully acre a 1000 year old graveyard resides. But now a modern museum and a location for the best outdoor music concerts in the city. In the distance I see the Phoenix Park, one of the largest walled parks in Europe containing the Zoo founded in 1830 the Papal cross as a remembrance of the pope visit the Obelisk a British memorial that the IRA tried to blow up. The Park and the Zoo are renowned for romantic rendezvous for many Dublin people and indeed visitors. The river Liffey runs between us and the park, the river that created the town over a 1000 years ago. Behind me I know but cant see the Grand canal as we had passed it on our walk earlier, imagining the Guinness barges transporting there goods all over the country. I could name more romantic and nostalgic places like the Irish national War park, Museum, Hueston train station and more not a stones throw away, but my glance finally falls on modern Dublin the Hilton hotel, a fine building fitting in well with its surroundings with couples sipping coffee out doors on the Veranda, and tourists going about their business, I point this all out to my good Lady as we watch the Italian waitress bustle about and chat to Italian people who obviously come here for the authentic food. And she turns to me and smiles and in true Dublin fashion says " your full of Sxxt" but your right this beats anywhere else in the whole world.

We stayed overnight at the Hilton recently. When we booked on the Lidl website we requested a room at the front of the hotel in the 'request section' of the booking. However, when we arrived at the hotel they said they never received this request and when I showed them the copy I had printed off they said the request had not filtered through to reception and we should have got in touch with the hotel directly and they would have organised a room at the front of the hotel. We were very disappointed as it was a special occasion and my daughter had stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions having booked on the Lidl website too and was always granted her request for a room at the front, in fact the receptionist told her they had received her request on each occasion. We were then told that the hotel was full that night and there were no rooms to the front of the hotel available, but oddly, if we wanted to upgrade for €20 they could give us a room at the front! The dinner menu was very limited and I opted for the chicken breast which at best was very chewy/tough. My husband went for the roast beef which was marginally better. Breakfast the next morning was cold due to the fact that the plate heater doesn't actually work and as a result the plate was cold so by the time we got to our table with our egg and bacon it was freezing and the tea was in an insulated pot and there had to have been coffee in it prior to our tea because it tasted like coffee mixed with tea. Overall a disappointing stay. On a positive note the hotel is very clean and has great potential and it is in a good location with access to the city centre by bus/tram in a matter of minutes.

We were very happy with the hotel overall. Had dinner on both nights, fairly small, basic menu but the food was lovely. Rooms bigger than most I have stayed in, beds big and comfortable. The receptionist was very knowledgeable and helpful when we asked about local tourist attractions. Breakfast was lovely. Pool area small but nice, clean etc. Bring your own swim caps as they charge for rentals. Kilmainham Jail is literally just across the road and for €4 entry is an absolute must see, very interesting. Taxi in to town was €10. Walking distance to Phoenix Park.

The hotel was really lovely and was of the standard of a Hilton Hotel. Booking via Credit Card attracted a charge of €2.95 which was a bit disappointing as that is the normal way such a break would be booked. Parking was €12 per night so it worked out a bit more expensive than initially thought when booking. Online offered option of a twin room but this was not available. The hotel looked after my friend and I and offered us a family room. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was also satisfactory.

Room was gorgeous with amazing views of Dublin, you could even see the Dublin Mountains. Robes and slippers for both of us didnt even want to leave the room. Dinner was delicious and staff were very fast and friendly. Bar is lovely and cozy and again fast service. Would definitely recommend staying here. My one and only gripe is that nowhere either on the website or in the carpark does it state we have to pay for parking and it was only upon check out we were informed we owed 12 euro for parking overnight. I know that its not much but its principle I felt it was a hidden charge and feel you should be told upon checking in.

Stayed here with my boyfriend in March. We both absolutely adored it. Staff were so nice and very helpful. The meal we had was out of this world. Main course took a while to come out, we didn't mind though. We got a free desert without mentioning one word about it. We unfortunately didn't get to use the pool , which we had full access to if desired. No more than €12 in a taxi to town, 79 bus leaves you right outside if you're not driving, which leaves from city centre. The room was gorgeous which conveniently had a mini fridge and cooler with wine glasses. Bed was really comfortable, toilets very clean. We were late checking out, and not one word was mentioned about it, we were just advised that we could leave our bags in hotel free of charge while we visited Kilmainham jail. 10/10. Couldn't fault it at all. Perfect for anyone and everyone. Cant wait to go back!!

The hotel itself is nice, modern and clean. The location is perfect just a stones throw from the city and the park. Unfortunately, we found the service to be very poor. Despite ordering in the restaurant at 18:00, we still found ourselves waiting on our main course at 19:15 which was frustrating as we had a toddler with us. The service was equally poor in the bar. The found was average.

Great hotel, lovely staff, nice food. Excellent service.. The only downfall was we had no air con in our room (no window either) and it was like staying staying in a sauna. This however would not deter us from staying again..

This hotel was just perfect for the weekend and they made a big fuss of my daughter for her birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and room and food all lovely. The hotel is also handy for getting in and out of town and kilmainham gaol and museum of modern art on the doorstep.

To be very honest I never really write these reviews but this hotel stay most definitely deserves one! Myself and my friend stayed here on a Saturday night. We arrived in the hotel and after leaving our luggage in a luxurious bedroom, we went went down to dinner. All three courses were beautiful, top class, absolutely splendid. The service also, was second to none. The next morning the breakfast was again, of the highest of standards. The bread, fruit and most importantly the fry was to die for! We went to the pool after this which almost made it into a little spa morning for us. The jets in the pool, the jacuzzi and sauna were all just what we needed an we left the hotel feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to hit the shops for the afternoon. We were singing the hotel's praises to taxi drivers, people next to us in the train and family. I look forward to coming back soon. The Irish rail hotels website gave us a fabulous deal too so the next time I'm in Dublin the hilton kilmainham will most definitely be my first choice.

We have been to the Hilton in kilmainham several several times on both family and as a couple stay, we always thoroughly enjoyed it and the children and ourselves, especially the meals the food was always outstanding. It was why we booked there on this occasion however the meal we had was of the poorest quality nothing like previously, it was tasteless and the portions were ridiculously small so much o we didn't wait for dessert and went into town ad had a proper meal, so dissapointing. We were to wait another night but we checked out and booked into another hotel. I don't think I would return as there is much better value and quality out there.

It really was so comfortable to be in a warm relaxing environment. They were very courteous and helped me with a quick guide of the area re the Luas and attractions within walking distance of the hotel as Dublin Bus were on strike ! I will stay again! Bridie

This is a first class Hotel. From checking in with the very friendly, helpful staff we felt very comfortable in the Hotel. The bedroom was a well spacious room with a large comfortable bed and plenty of closet storage and all the amenities we needed. We had our evening meals in the Cinnamon Restaurant and again the staff were very professional and friendly, the food was absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast was fantastic. We used the leisure facilties which were brilliant. The Hotel is a little out of the city but we had beautiful weather and fit enough to walk in and out of the city, although there are buses, taxis and the trains nearby if you need them. The Hotel is nearby to the Phoenix Park, The Guinness Factory and the Kilmainham Prison. We will definitely be back to stay at this Hotel and would recommend it to everyone. It is a well kept, clean, trendy Hotel.

Claire scored 5 / 5 on 28/07/2013

A fantastic hotel - we had a great stay. Beautifully presented, comfortable and clean. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite. Bar and restaurant service excellent; food delicious. We asked for a walk in shower and quiet location, which we received. Bathroom lovely and spacious. The hydro pool facilities are lovely to relax in at the end of a busy day! Close to Heuston train station but it's quite a way from the city centre but bus service is nearby to the hotel with a regular service. The tour bus/hop on & off service is across the road with Kilmainham Old Hospital and Gaol next to the hotel. A taxi fare is roughly 10.00 -14.00 euro into the city or surrounding areas. The air conditioning could do with a bit of tweaking as very warm in rooms and hotel but we are experiencing an unusual hot summer! I would definitely recommend this hotel and will return there next time I'm in Dublin.

James scored 3 / 5 on 23/07/2013

Hotel was nice very clean and comfortable, staff were pleasant but few in number in the restaurant and bar. Lunch was average and expensive 13.95 for a club sandwich. We had dinner included , the menu was limited, we choose sirloin steak at an additional charge for 7euro pp. it was very poor the meat was well done when medium was ordered and I ate very little as i could not find a bit without fat. The manager asked if everything was ok as my plate was almost untouched. I outlined my complaint and he smiled, took my plate and never came back, why bother asking. We had to queue the pay at the end of the meal because they were so short staffed. Buffet breakfast was ok.

Hotel scored 4 / 5 on 09/07/2013

great hotel really modern, room was lovley lots of channels to choose from on the flat screen. food was lovely also. Only downside was the air con was not working in our room and it was one of the hottest weekends we have had so the proter brought up a portal fan but it was really old and was so loud like the noise of an old car trying to start but still the jesture was nice. They could however of offered a move of room with the weather we were having air con was vital.

This hotel, is possibly one of the best in Dublin, at the moment. It is exceptionally clean throughout and well run, by very friendly and polite staff. This particular deal, is fantastic value and would be recommended to any other travellers. The 'icing on the cake', was to have access also, to the health and fitness facility( included in our package )which was absolutely spotless and not too far away from bedrooms, which we find a big 'plus'. Overall, a delightful experience. We look forward to returning soon again.

This hotel offers the usual high standards expected,so let's concentrate on the location! Facing the entrance is the historic Kilmainham Jail Experience, there could be a queue, so be prepared to wait. Look left and you have the castellated rear entrance to the beautiful grounds of the Museum of Modern Art whose buildings and courtyard were the backdrop to many scenes in 'The Tudors' TV series. Stroll through the MMA to the main entrance, keeping left takes you down to the taxi rank at Heuston Station where the LUAS (tram) will take you to Northside City centre , Busaras ,Connolly Station and the O2 Venue for about Euro 1.50. So a pleasant 10 minute walk and you have access to other sightseeing, why not visit Collins Barracks (just across the river) before getting the LUAS? Just ask reception for the nearest Hop on Hop off bus stop if you prefer that option.

Hotel is very nice and very clean. We found that the service in the dining room and bar very slow due to lack of staff. We had to ask numerous times for water, wine and coffee and not everyone received same. The lights going off in the bar and restaurant between 8pm and 9pm we found very strange. We couldn't read the menu and had to use our phones as a light. We do find the deal we got to be excellent though.

We stayed on Friday 22nd March on a 1 night Today FM break ( 2 Course Dinner + breakfast). Everything was excellent - from check in,room, leisure facilities and restaurant. The hotel is in an ideal location for the city centre as the Suir Road Luas stop is about 7 minutes walk away( €2 single trip to city). The hotel is adjacent to both the Royal Hospital and Kilmainham Jail. The War Memorial Gardens are less than 5 minutes away and the Phoenix Park about 10/12 minutes walk. We hope to stay again and continue visiting the sites. F and M Bray.

I booked the hotel 5 days before st patricks day in hope to be in dublin for the festivities. When we arrived on the 17th of March the reception given was amazing. The staff at the desk were so friendly and they upgraded our room to a king size for free. The room itself was large spacious and very clean. The bathroom was beautiful and the showergel and shampoos were lovely, they seemed really expensive. The breakfast the next morning was a buffet style and was beautiful. I know it's hard to believe that a place can be so good for customer service but it really was. Though it was not very central, taxis were always available out the front door and were roughly 10 Euro to the very centre of town. Though the hotel is not in the middle of the city centre, it is located beside the historic gaol which is beautiful. If you want to have a quiet sleep but still an amazing trip to dublin surrounded in history then I would recommend this hotel. Feckin amaze!!!!!!!! :) :)

We stayed 2 nights at the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham and booked through todayfm breaks. 2 nights b&b and 1 evening meal - €89 per person sharing. Excellent value. Hotel was extremely comfortable. It is located across the road from the Kilmainham Gaol - well worth a visit. The room was lovely - very comfortable bed and nice supply of tea/coffee and toiletries. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was A+. A great selection of both hot and cold food. And the biggest pot of tea and coffee we ever received at breakfast. Evening food in the bar was very tasty and the bar is very modern, chilled out and funky lighting. The evening meal included in the stay was good ... while one dish was in our opinion - not quite four star (fish skewers, rice and sweet chilli dip) - we were offered another main course in place of the dish at no extra charge. Definitely enjoyed our stay, would recommend the hotel to all and would stay again...

I stayed in the Hilton Kilmainham on 22nd December. I can't praise this hotel enough. The location is ideal and the staff very welcoming. I found the reception area quite dark, but this could be mood lighting. It certainly didn't take away from the enjoyment of the stay. We ate in the bar and the menu had a very good selection. I would recommend the ribs - delicious!! Our bedroom was fabulous - a decent size and very comfortable. The bathroom was great, with a stand alone shower as well as a bath and plenty of surfaces for your items. Even the toiletries provided by the hotel were great. To finish, the staff are extremely well trained and most welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I would defintely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice hotel within easy reach of the city centre.

The breakfast was fab. The lady's manner on reception left a lot to be desired. Firstly, there was a mix up with my booking and it was seemingly my fault. We were then put in a room that had no bath in the bathroom, it was a very basic room but had a nice view. The room was far too hot, i phoned down to reception twice to ask someone to take a look at the aircon. The lady mentioned above had a big attitude problem - i know she was a trainee (it said on her badge) but that girl needs to learn a thing or two about customer service before she graduates. Her attitude was with her for the whole weekend we were there. The TV in our room kept turning off, like it was set to a timer, couldnt fix that. Didnt even bother phoning down for it to be fixed as new we wouldnt get a response - and seeing as no-one ended up coming up to fix their aircon, why bother! Anyhow, room was grand for the price we paid for it, but i would have been really unhappy if i had paid anymore for it. But i know we would have had a nicer room had our booking not been mixed up, pity, i would have recommended people to stay here otherwise (Also, i work in events and was scouting locations - definitely wouldn't consider here after the attitudes of some staff).

Excellent hotel, with nice rooms and just a short bus journey or a 20min walk into town. Really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was superb.

Room clean and not too small. nice facilities. Not possible to do lengths in pool as it's too small. Parking 12 euro!

Booked this hotel with todayfm breaks and it proved great value for money. The room was big, airy and spotless. The bed was really comfy. We didn't eat in the hotel but did have a few drinks at the bar . Breakfast was very nice. Car park was €12 overnight and a taxi into town cost €10. The hotel is straight across from Kilmainham Gaol and the National Arts museum. However my only complaint was with the receptionist while checking in. She said the had no booking for us and only when I showed her my confirmation email on my iphone (which she wanted emailed to her and then took my phone to show another member of staff around the back of reception) that they found our booking. No apologises were given to us or explaination as to what happened. I understand mistake with bookings can happen from time to time but it was how it was handled that I didn't like.

Rooms very spacious and clean. Breakfast lovely. Car Park €12 for an overnight stay for guests, a little on the expensive side. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant stay.

This Hotel offers excellent value for money. The bedrooms where large and airy, the bathrooms clean and modern and the hotel surrounding where fabulous. The breakfast buffet was the nicest and freshest I have eaten in a long time. Well Done. I will be back again!

Very nice hotel in a good location. Room was lovely...spotless. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Only crib was the stools in the bar...most uncomfortable I have ever sat on ! Overall a great place to stay and we will stay there again.

Stayed here on New Year's Eve 2011,on a lidl break, couldn't have picked a better hotel, it was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful, had a three course meal which was georgeous and breakfast was also lovely. We were very close to Winter Wonderland as it was only across the road. It is in a great location, close to Hueston station and only a short trip into town on the luas. Very impressed with this hotel. Martina.

My husband and I stayed in the Hilton, Kilmaingham last Friday and the only fault was the breakfast was only just warm. The rooms, general ambience, service of staff esp. front desk was very good. On checking out I was asked how was my stay. I don't remember being asked that in other hotels and I thanked the girl for asking. I would def. recommend this hotel for a touch of class and with lidl breaks at a bargain price.

Lovely Hotel close to City centre via Luas. But you would need a Taxi at extra cost if returning later at night . When i last booked with Lidl-Breaks the hotel could not accomodate me as it was overbooked , yet Lidl-Breaks had took my Reservation. The fault was with the Hotel.

Lovely hotel. Extra touches show the four star quality. Staff very helpful. Food excellent. Super value from Lidl for such a good hotel. I would highly recommend both Lidl breaks and the Hilton Kilmainham.

We stayed in your hotel recently, it was both convenient to Phoenix Park, Hueston station and the fact that the tour bus stopped outside was another added bonus. We really loved our stay, your hotel was indeed very comfortable, the food beautiful and the staff especially the porter were great. The swimming pool/hydro pool was also lovely, but be careful with little children in regards to slipping on wet ground, the girl in reception at the gym and pool area could be more helpful. Other than that everything was wonderful.
